Toyota to Unveil "All-New" Land Cruiser at Frankfurt Motor Show

As well as announcing the world premieres of the pre-production Auris Hybrid and Prius Plug-in Hybrid concept, Toyota has also confirmed that it will take the covers off the completely redesigned Land Cruiser at the Frankfurt motorshow. Even though the Japanese automaker is keeping details and photos of the 2010 Land Cruiser / Prado to itself, a JDM brochure that leaked onto the internet in the beginning of August has reveals that the SUV receives new sheetmetal with softer forms along with a redesigned interior.

The revamped Land Cruiser, which should pave the way for a new Lexus GS in the States sometime next year, will go on sale in Europe during the 4th quarter of 2009. Check our previous report on the 2010 Land Cruiser by clicking here.

Leaked: 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado facelift Brochure

The refreshed 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado has been caught out again, this time thanks to a leaked Japanese-market brochure. As you can see, the facelifted Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, which is sold in the States as the Lexus GX, gets new sheetmetal all around featuring a restyled front fascia somewhat inspired from Toyota's latest creations like the Avensis along with new tail lamps, bumper and tail gate design at the rear and a smoother profile thanks to the redesigned fenders.

The scanned brochure also provides us with our first glimpse of the redesigned dashboard that boasts a new instrument panel with two deeply set gauges and a new center console with repositioned air vents. In addition, there's a new multifunction, four-spoke steering wheel while the interior trim has also been updated.

It's not clear yet if Toyota has made any changes under the hood, but we reckon that it shouldn't be long before we get the "Full Monty" on the 2010 Land Cruiser Prado.

Redesigned 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado Scooped Again

For the second time this month, the facelifted 2010MY versions of the Land Cruiser V8's more compact 3-door and 5-door siblings which are known in many markets as the Land Cruiser Prado (not sold in the States) have been photographed undisguised. These latest pictures, which made it into an Arabic site, confirm that the 2010 Land Cruiser Prado gets a redesigned front fascia inspired by Toyota's latest European models like the Avensis along with more heavily profiled wheel arches and new tail lamps.

Not much else in known about the 2010 Land Cruiser but we suspect that Toyota may also have refreshed the luxury off-roader's interior. In most markets, the current generation Land Cruiser Prado is available with a choice of two powertrains, a 4.0-liter V6 petrol engine producing 249 horsepower and a 3.0-liter four-banger turbo diesel that cranks out 173 horsepower. 2010 Land Cruiser Facelift Photos Appear on Arabic Site

2010 Toyota Land CruiserWhile Toyota has already revealed an updated version of its larger Land Cruiser V8 (also known with the 200 moniker) in 2007, the smaller, latest generation Land Cruiser 3- and 5-door models that are sold in some markets as the Land Cruiser Prado, haven't changed much since their initial introduction. But today, a set of photographs, supposedly showing the facelifted 2010 Land Cruiser Prado, appeared on an Arabic Toyota enthusiast forum.

W2010 Toyota Land Cruisere only have the front and back ends to go by, but chances are there won't be any changes to the Land Cruiser's profile. Compared to the current model (pictured on the right), the SUV featured here gets a reworked fascia that appears to adopt styling cues from Toyota's latest European models like the Avensis. At the back, the Land Cruiser Prado boasts a new set of tail lights plus a revised tail gate design.

It remains to be seen if the vehicle featured in these photos is indeed the facelfited 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser.

In Europe, the current Land Cruiser is offered with two engine options, a 4.0-liter V6 petrol with 249 horsepower and a 3.0-liter turbo diesel that makes 173 horsepower.
