Europe’s Print Industry Turns to ROGLER for Order & Workflow Management Software

Europe’s Print Industry Turns to ROGLER for Order & Workflow Management Software Software solutions for the printing industry are by no means uncommon. However, one particular solution from an Austrian software house has taken but a few years to establish itself as one of the European printing industry’s leading order and workflow management solutions. Called technoLOGIC™, this comprehensive solution comes from ROGLER Software, a 1992-startup founded by DI Hannes Rogler in Vienna in 1992. ROGLER is currently gearing up for a mid-October appearance at Druck+Form 2009, a print industry trade show set for October 14-17 2009 in Sinsheim, Germany.

According to Beatrix Blab, a marketing executive based with ROGLER at the company’s home office in Langenzensdorf, Austria, Druck+Form 2009 will give the company a welcome opportunity to rub shoulders with a savvy international crowd that has come to rely on ROG-LER to quickly implement uncomplicated order and workflow management solutions.

The solutions are always on the cutting edge, says Blab, because of ROGLER’s commitment to the best available technology, support for industry standards like MS-SQL Server, and the company’s membership in and support for NGP, a manufacturer-neutral strategic initiative for a completely integrated production environment for the graphics industry, and CIP4, the international Cooperation for the Integration of Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress.

At the core of ROGLER’s solutions for the printing industry is always technoLOGIC™, a Management Information System (MIS) that integrates with several other modules - most notably technoPLAN©, a sophisticated electronic planning module - to create a central planning and control system that monitors and regulates all internal processes using data that must be captured and entered into the MIS only once. This flexible data management system makes it possible to centrally store all relevant data and make these data available to the entire system, eliminating duplicate data entry and costly data inconsistency.

The technoLOGIC™ MIS offers users all of the functions required in a software solution specifically tailored to the needs of the printing industry. The suite’s basic management functions include customer management, supplier administration, personnel administration, material management, job order management, form control and authorization administration. Comprehensive cost calculation modules, stock and purchasing modules, invoicing and delivery modules, and a CRM module  handle additional key functions.

ROGLER technoPLAN ©Working hand-in-glove with the technoLOGIC™ MIS is technoPLAN©, a sophisticated electronic planning board that enables and undertakes monitor- ing of all further steps in the production process. Once an order is received and released for production, technoPLAN© makes all the relevant data available to the appropriate cost centers and gives planners a variety of planning algorithms to use as simulation models or for automatic cost optimization. Job status is conveniently color-coded for easy identification and technoPLAN© automatically monitors the job status for possible conflicts in meeting delivery dates, possible shortages, or collisions within the production process.

Several other modules integrate with ROGLER’s technoLOGIC™ MIS and while space is too limited to deal with these in detail, additional in-depth information is available on the ROGLER website. These modules include technoBDE©, an automatic product data acquisition module, technoIMPOSITION©, a sheet preparation module, and technoLOGISTIX©, an electronic storage location management module. ROGLER not only supports and maintains these standard software solutions, it also adapts the programs to a customer’s specific needs, programs special solutions as required, advises customers on hardware, software and network issues, and also trains customers in using ROGLER’s software solutions. This customer-centric approach, which sees software solutions as a means of achieving a close, reliable working relationship with customers, has won the company many notable clients and partners, including such well-known names as MAN, Komori, KBA, Kodak, Agfa and many others.
